Justice League/Aquaman: Drowned Earth Special #1

This wasn’t the strongest plot that DC has put out in recent years…but I’m also possibly missing a lot of context, since I’m not up to date in Aquaman. Honestly, I read this comic because I assumed it’d tie in to larger events happening in DC. I still suspect that’s the case, I just don’t know where it’s going to lead.
When I first saw the comic I got my hopes up, thinking it was going to be about the Batman alternate from the Drowned Earth world. Since she was one of my favorites (I know, everybody else loved the laughing man, but I just adore her stylistically) I would have killed for that series. Oh well.
