This book was a bit darker than any of the other books by Chautona that I've read. The subject matter was heavy - Vikki (or Tori, depending on who knew her) in dealing with memory loss and discovering things about her tragic past that she would rather have left behind. Add a stalker or two, men who are clearly trying to kill her and it is the perfect recipe for a suspenseful mystery.
There was a particularly violent scene, when Brandon, Vikki's neighbor withholds her location from the thugs who are after her. Yeah, I get why it was there, but I wish the details weren't shared.
There were also some parts of the book that were disjointed. I've seen this in other books by the author, especially her suspense ones. I think the idea is to leave details hidden, but it just leaves this reader confused.
Other than that, I did enjoy the book. There is clearly Christian content, but Chautona Havig has a gift for presenting it in such a way that it is not preachy or overt.
The ending made it clear that there will be a follow-up to this story. I plan on reading that one when it comes out as well. This review was originally posted on Among the Reads
