I really loved this slow burn story of Enzo and Damon. It has the theme of friends-to-lover and first time M/M loving. I could not put this book down. I stayed up late to finish this deeply moving and beautiful story of two men who find one another after a horrific tragedy.

Enzo and Damon each, lost a sibling during a nightclub fire that changed their lives forever. Both are drowning in sorrow and guilt being survivors from the tragedy. Neither men have coped well with the loss of their siblings. Enzo lost his brother Ricky who was his best friend and older brother. Damon lost his baby sister Katie.

Months after the nightclub fire Damon happens to be outside a bar. He is still hesitant and scared to step foot in a bar. While standing there hesitant, Damon notices Enzo standing off to the side of the building where the bar is at. He watches Enzo walking into an alleyway with a woman and notices shortly two men following them into the alleyway. Damon sees this and steps in and save Enzo from being mugged. Enzo offers to feed Damon for helping him. Somehow these two lost souls that are strangers feel a kinship with another. A tentative friendship forms as they both realize they were at the same nightclub fire and both lost a loved one.

I was really engrossed with Enzo and Damon's story. Their tentative friendship forged from the nightclub fire allowed both to reveal things they couldn't to others and be there for one another the way they couldn't with family. I like being in their world and watching as friendship turned into something neither expected or ever experienced. Their story was told beautifully. How they deal with their inner demons was very believable. They wanted to get better for each other and seek actual help. I loved that. Things didn't just get better for them because they found love, their love made them wanted to get better and heal by asking for professional help instead of just relying on one another. This was a beautiful story of hope, healing and the power of love. Absolutely adore Enzo and Damon. I didn't want their book to end.
