Katherine loses her accounting job, after being deemed redundant by the powers that be. Rather than wallow within the darkened walls of her room, she choses to write a book. Sure she gets sidetracked by romantic comedies on TV, conversations with her mail carrier and her daily horoscope, but she still manages to put forth the effort in writing every day. For someone who had been so incredibly organized and who's life was her job, it was fun to follow her as she stepped outside her comfort level to do something she truly enjoyed.
Then there was James. He was sweet, shy and awkward, but you knew he was just what Katherine needed to keep her grounded. She may not have seen him as the great love of her life, but he was her rock, whether she knew it or not. He may have questioned himself and what was happening between him and Katherine, but in the end he knew he could make her happy.
The storytelling flip flopped back and forth between Katherine, Mark and James' POV, but those changes gave us a well rounded story with character who were fun and endearing.
