Stay with Me (Wait for You, #3)

by J. Lynn and Jennifer L. Armentrout

Another outstanding New Adult novel from the bestselling author of WAIT FOR YOU - a NEW YORK TIMES bestseller

Not all scars are visible on the surface

Calla Fritz is used to hiding. Hiding the scar that she believes mars her beautiful face. Hiding the burns that cover so much of the rest of her body. Hiding her past and her family secrets from her new college friends.

But when her mother clears out her bank account and disappears, Calla is forced to return home and face up to a life she'd rather forget about. What she didn't count on was meeting the one guy who seems to be able to see past her defences. Jackson James, known as Jax, is beyond smokin' hot - and Calla can't quite hide her feelings for a man who knows that beauty isn't only skin deep.

But with some dangerous characters looking for her mother - men who are perfectly happy to punish Calla for her mother's sins if she doesn't turn up soon - Calla and Jax have more troubling things to think about than the searing heat between them...

I don't know, I did not enjoy this one as much as the others..

I liked Calla in the previous part, she was badass and brave and awesome. But in this one she could be really annoying and quite dumb sometimes.. Too much innocence and being a victim. Yes, yes she has been through a lot (a helluva lot), but I did not like how she acted about it.
Jax also played into that too much for me, being the hero who saves her from everything. Like she is a little child who can't do anything herself, blegh.
He was just too damn perfect that I did not care for him at all. He is so beautiful blablabla.. If I keep hearing how amazing he is one more time I will hurt someone !!

Not only that.. but also the sex part got really boring for me, it just did not add anything to throw in a sex scene every couple of pages.. !! I know it is NA, but still !!

I do like it when this kind of books have a twist in it. And even though I liked the whole drugs/maffia stuff in there, it was also a bit too much ? I like drama, but this was SO much. It made it less real for me maybe ?

So yeah.. This one was not for me. I skimmed through the last part and could not wait for it to be over. It is that I wanted to know how the whole drugs/maffia plot ended, but otherwise I would have DNF'ed it. I've liked all of her other books in this series so far, and I LOVE her fantasy/YA books, but not this one... Not for me. Makes me wonder if I want to read the next one ? So yeah 2 stars for this one.
