It's the weirdest thing, but I did not enjoy this re-read. I'm not sure if I would blame it on hormones or just my mood. Things that I tolerated and found a little sexy before made me cringe. Looking at you Daddy (shudder). Well, honestly, I never found that particularly sexy, but the sexy talk was always good. The Nick stuff peeved me off. But, the thing that made me scowl was the epilogue. Geez, talk about an insensitive, egotistical, self-absorbed douchewaffle...that made me see RED.
Now, take all of this with a grain of salt because next time I will probably sing its praises.
***Not changing my rating because I'm sure it's just a phase.***
An audio review of Knight by Kristen Ashley...
I have read Knight a few times before, but this was the first time I listened to it. I'm still not sure whether I liked it better as a read or an audio. The narrator did a wonderful job and I never once got distracted by her voice putting me "off". I had to remind myself numerous times (as I listened with headphones in the car with my hubby and son) that they couldn't hear what I was hearing. Knight does talk dirty and he has a foul mouth which I enjoy a lot, but I think others may find a little shocking.
I enjoyed the story of Anya and Knight knowing that I would never be, or put myself, in the same situations. Obviously, I wouldn't be in the same position...no one would fight to possess me (ha ha). I found Anya and her friends a little immature, especially Sandrine. Their nightclubbing and partying seemed more appropriate for a 22 year old than a 27 year old.
I don't know if I could or would ever call my partner "Daddy" or let myself be "owned". Saying that, Knight gives you enough confidence in yourself to own your feelings and gives you a safe place to act out. The sex scenes were hot and hearing it made it a bit hotter in my opinion.
Overall this was already a good story for me, the audio enhanced it.
