Ruger obviously loves Sophie and definitely loves her son Noah, but he’s a man who is used to living the single life so it was interesting watching him struggle to come to terms with his feelings. Sophie really didn’t like the idea of her son being raised around bikers but even she has to admit that Ruger and the others are one big family that looks out for each other. I enjoyed watching these two equally strong characters stand up to each other.
I honestly never thought that I would enjoy a series about a Motorcycle Club, but Ms. Wylde does a fabulous job of showing that while they have this wild, violent and untamed side there is another side, a side that’s all about honor, loyalty and family and doing whatever necessary to protect their family and their way of life.
A lot of things go down, and it’s obvious that there is a lot of history between Sophie and Ruger and it’s backed up with the right amount of history and little tidbits dropped here and there that I was able to paint a picture, before things were revealed fully. There is enough history presented of the Reapers that I think this story could be read as a standalone but as a fan of the whole series, I recommend starting at the beginning.
I highly recommend this story, it was full of action, romance and even a touch of violence but I honestly could not put it down when I started.
