What a cute book this turned out to be. I have only read one book in the Bowler University series but I know who Max Payton is. I adored Max in the book that I read and was looking forward to reading his book and then I didn’t read it. I’m a winner, right? Anyway, when I heard that this series was going to feature Max’s brothers – I was in.

Dirty Talk follows Brent Payton, the fun-loving playboy brother and Ivy Dawn as they fall in love with each other. Ivy’s sister Alex works with Brent and the Dawn sisters moved to town not too long ago to build a new life for them and Ivy’s daughter, Violet. Men haven’t been good to the Dawn sisters and they’ve moved around a lot because of them so when they plant their roots down in this latest town, they don’t plan on moving again so both Violet and Alex agreed that…no men.

The no men rule came about because their choice in men have affected Ivy’s young daughter, Violet. Violet is scared of being around men. Alex’s ex-boyfriend was emotionally abusive and being in that environment wasn’t good for someone as young as Violet.

They’re in a new town and Alex found a job that she seems to enjoy and Violet is settling into school as best as can be and things are looking up for Ivy as well so the last thing she needs is the distraction of Brent Payton.

Brent Payton can’t explain why he wants to get to know Ivy so much, I mean sure she’s gorgeous but there are plenty of gorgeous women he could hook up with but there’s something about Ivy that keeps bringing him back to her so if he wanted her in his life, he had some work to do. He had to win Ivy over but he also had to win over both Alex (who thinks he’s a horn dog) and Violet (who is terrified of men).

Seeing these two find their way toward each other was too freaking cute. I really enjoyed getting to know both Brent and Ivy. I thought they were both strong characters a part from each other but they were pretty special together. I loved the bond that blossomed between Brent and Violet. I loved the relationship that Brent had with Alex. He really won that entire family over…until Alex gets a scare and Ivy has a choice to make.

Stay and fight or flee and miss out on what was becoming the most important relationship she’s ever had with a man.

I really enjoyed this one. I thought it was super cute and the characters were all pretty fantastic. I really loved Brent. He had a lot of my favorite qualities in a hero and the way that he just wormed his way into Ivy and Violet’s heart. I loved that they wormed their way into his heart as well and I loved the way he reacted when Ivy was forced to choose between him and their relationship and her family. It was a tough spot to be in and it hurt my heart to see Brent so distraught. Erickson did a fantastic job of telling this story and I’m looking forward to more from this series.
