Unfortunately, this was not a win for me. I was under the impression that Burn Down the Night could be read as a standalone but I struggled to understand what was going on. The introduction to the characters was very limited and what I did find out about them I didn't particularly like. This is just me, though, I'm not very tolerant of people who do stupid things over and over again.
As a reviewer, I like to give a book a fair go...but you like what you like and I don't like female on female scenes. Joan talks about being bisexual in the beginning of the story and I was OK with that until words became action.
This is a very popular series and I have a lot of friends who loved it. Definitely worth checking out more reviews before making your decision.
