Dawson really knows how to deliver a full-length novel feel with her novellas. Darcy Miller is a blogger who shed small-town life. She left behind her childhood sweetheart for life in the big city. Darcy’s mother begs her to come home when the town threatens to seize her home. Imagine Darcy’s surprise when she discovers her old boyfriend, bad boy Griffin Strong is the town mayor.

Darcy and Griffin had incredible chemistry despite the way things ended for them years ago. You could feel the sexual tension and knew these two would tango. I love a good second chance romance, and everything from why Darcy left to their feelings felt genuine. This is where Dawson excels as she managed to give us their back story and making their rekindled passion ignite.

Dawson made me laugh as she allowed us into Darcy’s head. Seeing her struggle to maintain her composure, as she took in this new version of Griffin was fun. The conversations and wicked banter over dinner were terrific and highlighted their chemistry. When these two connected my kindle sizzled.

The drama was realistic and even though I never doubted we would get an HEA, Dawson kept me wondering how it would all work out. Laughter, tenderness and sexy time made this the perfect lazy afternoon read.

While She’s My Kind of Girl is part of the Something New series it does work as a standalone and offers a complete story.
