Got an ARC from Netgalley.

I don't know what exactly it was that made me request this book, I just felt like this would be a great read. And it was.

I really, really, really liked the way this book was written! It switched between past and present and the tagline in each chapter really made me curious as to what was gonna happen. It worked very well. It's rare to find a book written like this. That being said, I do think the word "brat" was used too much.
This is a mature New Adult book, there are some nice and dirty scenes in there! I haven't seen that before - well, I have, but not this much in a NA book. It was refreshing and brave, I think. And it worked great.

The plot itself wasn't that interesting, but I kept on reading anyway. I wanted to know what had happened in the past. I do believe that Ash and Katie have somewhat of an unhealthy relationship. So much jealousy! It made me feel like they weren't really 19, but more like 16. It was jut a little too much.
The original ending in this ARC was a bit too vague for my taste, seing as this will be a series, but the author later added a scene at the end, which made me change my rating from 3 to 4 stars. I didn't know that an ending could mean that much to me, but apparently it did...
Also, it kind of reminded me of [b:Going Too Far|4570679|Going Too Far|Jennifer Echols|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1276962788s/4570679.jpg|4620030]

Because the ending was changed, I'll most definitely read the next book in the series.
