Betrothed to a stranger by King John, Gabrielle, the last of her royal line, is in possession of a powerful secret that could plunge the entire highland Scottish kingdom into anarchy, while her growing love for warrior Colm MacHugh could cost her everything.
What an enjoyable book. I miss Garwood's old historicals. I feel a re-read coming on and though I enjoyed this one, I was a little annoyed with the way that Brodick and Colm talked about the events from Ransom...they discussed wrong things and I get that Ramsay was trying to prove a point to Colm, but still. The way that whole conversation happened, was weird to me because Brodick knew who was taken and yet when he's discussing the whole abduction with Colm, he's discussing the wrong kid. But other than that, I really enjoyed this one.
