"Terror Tales of the Home Counties" is a wonderful anthology combining original fiction with short essays on old legends. We have tales of terror, but also those of a more haunting nature, and they complement each other well. I'd certainly recommend this anthology to fans of folk horror. My personal favourites were the very naughty "The Gravedigger of Witchfield" by Steven J Dines, the religious suspense and moralistic dilemma of "The Doom" by Paul Finch, and the haunting apocalyptic vision broadcast in "The Old Man in Apartment Ninety" by Jason Gould. They're old good reads though, and you'll have your own faves. I'm certainly looking forward to a few more of the disturbing day trips and weird weekends of the imagination these anthologies offer without even having to step outside.
