I received an ARC through NetGalley.

I quite enjoyed Wilde for Her, although not as much as the first book. There was something missing for me, but I'm not sure what. This time we've got a friends to lovers romance between Cam and Eva. They use to be partners when both were homicide detectives, but now, they're just best friends. Well, Cam has been in love with Eva forever, but knows she wants to get married and have kids one day, and that's not the life for him, so he's never admitted to his feelings. But when the two get drunk at his brother's wedding, they discover that they're not just good as friends, but also as lovers!

Wilde for Her was really good. I almost always enjoy friends to lover romances, and this one wasn't an exception. And I actually loved how it was the man pining after the woman at first, instead of the other way around. In fact, Eva is struggling a bit with her feelings toward her ex, who dumped her because he didn't want to get married, only he was secretly dating another woman whom he did get engaged to. That's gotta hurt! I also liked that Eva didn't just automatically give into Cam. It took her a little while to realize that her feelings ran deeper for him, and that maybe this picture perfect life she's been imagining isn't exactly what she wanted, but more of a way to distance herself from her druggie mother.

There is a bit of a suspense plot in the background, but really, it's very much in the background. I knew who the culprit was going to be as soon as they were introduced, and it was just a matter of them getting caught and revealing their motive. In short, someone wants Cam dead. He pretends to take the threat lightly, since he doesn't want his brothers or Eva involved in case things turn really dangerous. Of course, that's not going to happen, since everyone wants to protect him, especially his twin. And I'm sure you can guess what happens from here.

In the end, I did like Wilde for Her a lot. I just wish he had pulled me in a bit more. The suspense wasn't really there, although I did like the motive, and the twin angle. The romance was pretty god too, although their fight was a bit annoying. It's not so much about them personally, even though Eva tried to make it that way. At least they all came to their senses in the end.
