This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book via netgalley. I love DI Harte so I was soooo excited to go back to Cleevesford. While this is the third book in this series you could read it as a stand-alone.

In this instalment, DI Harte is still struggling with the after-effects of her last case. While battling her own issues of anxiety and guilt she must work out why this young girl has fallen out of a van on this quiet road. I love DI Harte. She is very realistic. She has many issues and is trying to work through them but like any of us sometimes old habits die hard. It would be good to see Gina's relationship whit her daughter grow.

The case was very interesting and did not unravel as I expected. There were quite a few twists and turns. I was definitely surprised by the outcome. The story also showed elements of the gritty world of the homeless that most of us probably ignore on a day to day basis. I also really felt for Julia. I really wanted to take all her pain away.

This was a thrilling case that really captured me and I can't wait to see what DI Harte faces next.
