4.5 Maple Leaf Review of Beautifully Broken Redemption (Sutter Lake 5) by Catherine Cowles.

"I don't know how to ask you for a shot when you've been through so much, But that doesn't change that I want this. So, I guess I just have to ask. Take that first step, Just one, We can go as slow as you want, and I'll meet you wherever you're at. Just one step."

Mason and Anna have both had painfully tragic pasts and are both trying to make a new life in Sutter Lake. Just as Anna is starting to feel a sense of security, tragedy strikes. Anna is ready to fight for the only family she has left and Mason is willing to help her by any means necessary, including marriage. As things start to grow and they are building their new family, someone is lurking in the shadows trying to bring it all down.

Mason and Anna both have some massive demons but their mutual understanding makes them both the perfect person to help the other heal. I loved the amount of friends they had around to support them. I couldn’t stand Anna’s family, ex-boyfriend, and Mason’s sister. I felt Juliette was a little too much.

Beautifully Broken Redemption was my first Sutter Lake book and I was able to enjoy it without feeling lost but will for sure be going back and reading the other books in this series.

Beautifully Broken Redemption is a small town, marriage of convenience romance that is told in the first person point of view of Mason and Anna.
