X-Force (2018-) #2

Man, the X-Force is not pulling punches. If you’re considering this series because you expect it to be happy and silly like the X-Force shown in Deadpool…um…adjust your expectations. I read Domino, so this is more along the lines I was expecting (though truthfully I did expect to see a bit more influence from the movies).
The series is trying very strongly with what has been happening in Uncanny X-Men. I think you could read this series as a standalone without many issues though, for now at least. It isn’t hard to understand what the team is up against.
There are a lot of parallels being drawn between the plot in this issue and real events in history. It’s perhaps a tiny bit heavy-handed, but when you think about the message they’re trying to make, I think that makes it okay.
