I desperately wanted to read this after binge-watching The Lizzie Bennet Diaries vlog series on YouTube in one sitting, and it did NOT disappoint! The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet is a refreshing and wonderful addition to the vlog, and a fantastic read.

For those of you who may be concerned that this book is simply a re-hash of the vlog, fear not! It gives greater details of Lizzie's life and conveys incidents and feelings in more detail than what could be portrayed in video format. It also adds plenty of extra material to make the read even more worthwhile. It is a fantastic companion to the vlog, however I would read the book after watching the vlog because you'll probably get more out of it that way. I know, I know - I usually jump up and down about watching an adaptation before reading the book! But in this case, the book came second so it's perfectly justifiable :) In fact, if you haven't already done so, you should read Pride and Prejudice, then watch the vlog and then read The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet, in that order. Off you go!
