It’s a lovely book. The only downside is that For Real and Glitterland and the other stories in the Spires universe resonated more strongly with me than Alfie and Fen. That said, I choked myself laughing at the DIY scene. And other scenes have stuck themselves in my head, so I will most likely revisit and revise my opinion at some point in the future. It’s a good one to do via audio too, what with Alexis Hall writing in dialect the way he does so well.
