The Duke's Shotgun Wedding opens with a bang! Well, almost. Jocelyn does have a gun and she's not afraid to use it to get what she wants. The duke's brother apparently seduced her, promised marriage, then eloped with someone else. Jocelyn demands reparations, but she doesn't expect Sebastian to immediately agree to step up and wed her instead. Sebastian needs a bride and an heir, but the simpering ladies of the ton just don't pique his interest. But this angry woman wielding a weapon? She'll more than do.

I super enjoyed The Duke's Shotgun Wedding. That opening scene was awesomely hilarious. I certainly didn't expect that at all! Jocelyn is very confident and refuses to let anyone step all over her. Even after she and Sebastian are wed and she becomes Duchess, she's not happy to just let him make decisions. She wants to be involved, and she tells him so! She doesn't want to just sit around alone while he works all day. She doesn't expect love, but she expects companionship and respect. Of course, that develops into love, despite Sebastian's vow to never trust another woman.

The Duke's Shotgun Wedding is very short, but very great. It has humor, heart felt moments, and steamy scenes! It even has a pinch of holiday cheer as Jocelyn plans a big family dinner and reunites her new husband with his estranged mother. I definitely wish there had been more, but it left me satisfied.
