Sophie, who we've seen in previous Sullivans books as the quiet sister, breaks out of his shell and finally starts showing people exactly who she is. She's so much more than the quiet librarian everyone thinks her to be and she's about the prove that to everyone as she makes a last ditch effort to make Jake McCann notice her at her brother's wedding.
What Sophie doesn't know is that Jake has been in love with her since they were little kids. The only problem (besides Sophie's brother beating the crap out of him) is the fact that he doesn't believe he's good enough for her.
The night of the wedding proves to be a turning point in their relationship, but they still have much to work through in order to get to happily ever after. Jake still harbors feelings of inadequacies and pushes Sophie away after their one night. But life has a way of throwing events in the way of your best intentions. When this happens with Sophie and Jake, Jake does a complete 180 and starts demanding all sorts of things from Sophie, in the name of doing what's right. It takes a very strong Sophie to stand up to Jake and help him realize they can be an awesome team, if they are only honest with each other.
I Only Have Eyes For You, is my favorite of the Sullivan series, so far. And as the Sullivans have starting falling in love, one by one, it was nice to see two people finally own up to their feelings and do something with them after all those years.
