So this was the last freebie I got in the Fighting For Love series. Four women and four men. I liked the women in this series even though I thought they put up with a lot more than they deserved. I did not like the men as much, the only one who wasn't a douchebag was Adam.
No character was beaten up in this issue which was nice for a change...even though I thought Joe could do with a kick to his head.
In this story we have a very emotionally vulnerable Maggie who's Mother is going through some issues with her health. She needs to come up with a lot of quick cash to pay for surgery. Enter Joe, the ex-boyfriend who cheated on her with numerous waitresses in his restaurant. He wants to employ her artistic talents for a new restaurant. Maggie is desperate, so she takes the job.
Joe's a changed man. He realised a year after they broke up that the sleeping with multiple women out in the open, instead of behind Maggie's back, had lost its appeal. Yuck!! Sorry Joe no redeeming for you. I couldn't get past it, even with his apologies and support in her time of need.
Lots of the other couples having sex and a little catching up with what is going on in their lives. Some really bad stuff heading for Mia and Nick which will be in the next book.
