In Harvest Moon we briefly met Denny Culter who has begun to set up a life for himself in Virgin River. A few years ago, Denny lost his Mom, dumped the girl he loved and reenlisted. After returning home he was confused, lost and trying to get over the biggest mistake he had ever made; breaking up with Becca. Denny has finally found a home in Virgin Rivers and invites some of his buddies up for a week of camping and fishing. He is shocked when Becca walk through the door with them.
What unfolds is a delightful tale that only Carr can deliver. The characters she has created in Virgin River will touch you and the stories will make you laugh, cry and feel good. The relationship that rekindles between Becca and Denny is warm and genuine The chemistry between them is hot, but Carr delivers it in such a way, that even the most delicate of readers won't be offended.
All of the Virgin River series can be read as standalone. I personally feel you would be missing out on what makes this town and its stories so special. The first book in the series is entitled Virgin River. Her next book in the series Hidden Summit is scheduled for release on Dec 27, 2011. Fear not dear reader, I have already pre-ordered my copy.
I highly recommend Bring Me Home for Christmas to anyone who loves contemporary romances, small towns and chick-lit.
