The Perfect Weapon

The Perfect Weapon is basically a little teaser story set right before Force Awakens, meant to entice you with possibilities and the promise of cool characters. I’d say it did it’s job pretty well.

We follow a woman named Bazine as she begins work on a job mired in mystery and danger. I quite like her, she’s smart, lethal and capable of handling a sticky situation by herself. Her danger lies in her power to change her appearance and lure people into believing what wants them to. I do think at this point I’m a bit over having badass morally ambiguaous women who use charm all the time…I kind of just want a badass woman with questionable morals and no charm. I want her to open her mouth and the wrong thing to come out. But I degress, and depsite that desire I still do enjoy Bazine as a person and hope to see more of her in either the movies or the books.

The story is fairly quick at only 60 pages, and is plenty of both intrigue, humor, and action. We get to see some new places and people, and it really makes me wonder just what will play into the Force Awakens. Will it be Bazine herself, her ship, the planet, or some of the side characters?
