Will Dirk, Sir Timothy, and Isabelle find the Great Library of Alexandria?
Book 1 – Guns and Guano
Dirk Dynamo, Timothy Blaze-Simms, and Isabelle McNair are the three adventurers that we follow to discover where the Library of Alexandria is hidden. Isabelle holds the findings of the first clue, which leads us to Africa. It is there that our three travelers meet with some exciting finds. I love the steampunk-ish quality of the books. Timothy is a pretty funny man who brings out the steam-powered tools that he has built. Dirk is the muscle, but he also has some brains and has figured out what is going on in the Africa town where they are staying. Isabelle didn’t just bring them to the clue but is proven to be very helpful to both Timothy and Dirk. I am giving this novel four stars.
Book 2 – Suits and Sewers
In the second installment, we find out heroes and heroines in the danger of having to go underground to retrieve the tablet they got in the first book from the ninjas. It was a pretty interesting little story, and it was a nice filler one between getting the next stone tablet that they need. I love the progression of the romance here between Dirk and Isabelle. I am giving this novel three stars since I didn’t care for some of the scenes.
Book 3 – Aristocrats and Artillery
Wow. The author sure knows how to make sure that a reader will keep wanting to read to his books. Dirk is still the hero and is doing his best to find the other stone tablet. They also get another girl in their group named Noriko, who is a Japanese ninja. A lot happens here, and there was a significant plot twist that I won't spoil. Now instead of four, Dirk and Tim are just by themselves again. I am giving this one four stars.
Book 4- Sieges and Silverware
Sadly, book four is another filler one. Dirk and Tim go after the girls to get back the stone tablets, and they stay for quite a while in a castle. Of course, while there, they discover some more monsters and that some things are better left undisturbed in this case. I am giving it a three-star.
Book 5 – Dead Men and Dynamite
The ending of this little collection of novellas is over, and it has a kind of reasonable satisfactory conclusion. So many things happened here, and I don’t want to spoil them, but it’s pretty good. Dirk has Isabelle and is just doing whatever Isabelle needs him to help out her organization if it calls for it. I am giving this one four stars.
Three Stars for The Epiphany Club
I think that Mr. Knighton did an excellent job on this book, and I liked it. Certain parts I didn’t like, and the ending made me sad. Dirk, Isabelle, and Tim will be in my thoughts now, and I hope that the three of them will one day share another adventure.
