Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1)

by Tara Sivec

Claire is a twenty-something, single mom that grudgingly helps her best friend sell sex toys while she attempts to make enough money to start her own business to give her foul-mouthed, but extremely loveable (when he's asleep) toddler a better life.

When Carter, the one-night-stand from her past that changed her life forever, shows up in her hometown bar without any recollection of her besides her unique chocolate scent, Claire will make it a point that he remembers her this time.

With Carter's undisguised shock at suddenly finding out he has a four-year-old son and Claire's panic that her stretch marks and slim to none bedroom experience will send the man of her dreams heading for the hills, the pair will do whatever they can to get their happily ever after.

Seduction and Snacks had mostly all glowing reviews, and I can certainly see why. It's a fictional, yet unreserved account of being a single mother, selling sex toys for a friend, and teaching your little boy the ways of the world. It was honest and begin brilliantly, designed to shock, gasp and laugh out loud. But after the initial few chapters, it missed the mark with me. The constant penis and vagina references becomes annoying. There are a team of drunken village idiots raising this poor child. You have an intelligent young woman, such as Claire's best friend Liz, who uses her doctorate in business to sell sex toys. Yes, because there is nothing like studying and paying for a university degree, all for the highly decorated career of vibrator sales assistant.

I wanted to fall in love with Seduction and Snacks, I wanted to be entertained at least, but sadly, it just wasn't my thing.
