Star-Lord & Kitty Pryde

by Sam Humphries

"OK, so they're not 'together' together: This isn't the Kitty that Peter Quill fell in love with. This is the fierce, battle-hardened and embittered Kitty Pryde from the Age of Apocalypse! Now, the very confused Quill and the really annoyed Pryde must band together and fight to survive the horrors of Battleworld--but can they wage a secret war while dealing with one another? And could there be a spark growing between these two, as well? The Marvel Universe may be dead, but #StarKat lives forever! Tune in for the most uplifting, confusing and ship-friendly romance/action/comedy/adventure/sci-fi story of the entire Secret Wars saga! Plus: AoA Kitty's first appearance! And Star-Lord pops the question!"--Page 4 of cover.

This is a Secret Wars tie-in graphic novel. This was a great and fun read. It had all my favorite characters with Kitty, Star-Lord, Drax, and Gambit. I wish it would have been longer than 3 issues but I've read a few other Secret War tie-ins that were longer that should have been cut down.

This Graphic novel also had some other issues included. One is part of the Black Vortex event and the other one is an old issue that ties into Age of Apocalypse. Both can be skipped if you have no knowledge of the history of these events. I read both of these before, but for other Graphic Novels I do like to read old stories to get little insights into certain characters.

For the Black Vortex you can skip to the end where they celebrate and you'll see some cute scenes between Kitty and Star-Lord as a couple.

I read Age of Apocalypse a long time ago and it was a trip down memory lane re-reading it. It brought up some things that I've forgotten.

The Age of Apocalypse I remember being a fun read. I would track down that Graphic Novel if you want to read some X-men. It's about an alternate reality where Apocalypse is in charge.
