Ms. Vane is a new author to me and Beauty and the Bull Rider is the third book in the Hotel Rodeo series.

Zachary McDaniel a Bull rider and he's injured again. Despite the setback, he needs to win one more time. Any prize money is needed to fix up his long neglected ranch. He's too old for this life and wants to settle down and have a family. The problem? His eight-year fantasy is called Delaney McCall. She's the only woman he's ever wanted and is his best friends ex-wife.

After her divorce from Ty Morgan, Delaney embraced her new life on the ranch she part owns with him. After completing a four-year degree in Animal Husbandry, she's slowly building up her business. Yet, she wants more. A baby. An offer to assist so she can achieve her goal comes from an unexpected person. Will she accept his offer?

Delaney vastly underestimates Zac's intentions when discussing the baby proposal. He's all for doing what comes naturally, whilst her approach is similar to the breeding program she has for her heifers! The author writes some fun but toe-curling scenes about that-ha!

Expect the unexpected because the plot didn't move in the way I thought it would. They're some romantic moments and sexy interaction between the protagonists, but the overall feel of Beauty and the Bull Rider is more business arrangement than a personal relationship. The timeline is short and whilst Zac had been pining for Delaney for many years, a couple of weeks just seemed too short a timeframe for Delaney to overcome her personal hang-ups.

The writing is style is fun and the novella was quick to read. I read this as a standalone and expected a more conclusive ending to what we got, with the plot lines more securely tied. There's nothing wrong with that as I suspect and hope there may be more of Zac and Delaney's relationship in future books in the series. For now, I'll catch up with Ty and Monica.
