I love Ren, our snarky, brilliant, complicated protagonist. The author has made me clench my fists in anger, burst out laughing and has even left me weeping like a baby as I traversed the Dream Traveler series on audio. While I bulked at book four, I rallied for book five.

Ren takes on the Almighty as he works to take back what is his. While this might sound religious it isn’t really it is more Ren redefining the rules of death and inevitable separation that occurs when the living lose a loved ones.

Since the beginning we’ve seen through Ren even though he could not make himself vulnerable. The man is a romantic at heart and Noffke did such a splendid job in this last book. Ren is reborn and freed from his own constraints and expectations.

Tim Campbell became the voice of these characters and is brilliant as Ren. He captured their emotions, snark and unique personalities. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer
