I Work at a Public Library

by Gina Sheridan

From a patron's missing wetsuit to the scent of crab cakes wafting through the stacks, Sheridan showcases the oddities that have come across her circulation desk: encounters with local eccentrics; bizarre reference requests; and heart-warming stories of patrons who roam the stacks every day.

This was a quick, funny short read I borrowed from the library. It’s a collection of true stories/incidents from a librarian, most of which are funny and/or unusual. If you need a laugh or are looking for something showing that truth is often stranger than fiction, then give this one a go. The author also has a blog where she shares many of her day to day happenings at work if this short collection is not enough for you.
