Gnomeless is the second book in the Gnome Novels series by Jennifer Zane. I absolutely loved the first book, Gnome on the Range, and this one is no exception. First of all, the humor is obvious by the title; any romance with "gnome" in the title has to be hilarious! But it isn't all light humor. Zane's characters are fun and quirky, as are some of the subplots, but there is so much more to the story. There is mystery and heartache and romance and sexiness, all wrapped up in a really great story. Veronica and Jake are a fabulous couple, and there are some smoldering moments between them. I only wish that the angst between them had lasted a little longer through the book; I think it might have added to the "angsty" romance part of the book.

Some of the characters from the first book are in this book, although the story focuses on new characters. This made for a fun tie-in to the original book while allowing for a new cast of characters and their stories. Goldie is back in this book and just as quirky and nutty as she was in the first! She adds a lot to the story, even if she is a minor character. And, even though, this is a sequel, because of the way the books tie into one another (changing main characters to minor), you can easily read these books out of order.
