In Sex God, best friends Garrett and Lauren have to figure out if they can take their relationship to the next level without losing what they already have.

I generally love a friends-to-lovers story. This one seemed like it would be right up my alley and written by one of my favorite authors. But the romance between Garrett and Lauren fell a little flat to me. They'd known each other for years. Garrett had been there for her during the worst time of her life. So I'm not quite sure how he thought he could hide the fact that he was planning on leaving their small Texas town. And knowing how badly he wanted to get out of there, I wasn't really sure why he even started down the path he did with Lauren.

There was plenty to love about Lauren and Garrett together, especially when he went alpha male on was determined to protect her. But it was the little secret that he managed to never tell his best friend that made this story fall a little flat to me. I still enjoyed it, but this wasn't my favorite of the author's books.
