I already knew I liked Jackson, but this book made me love him. We got to explore his past and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved how stubborn Catherine was, she reminded me of my own stubbornness. And you know what the best thing was? The reference to the obstacle course in book one! Oh yes, that was mentioned, and more than once! If you've read the series, you know why this is important.
There were times where I teared up reading this. It was really well written, and I'll be continuing the series. As I understand it, this is a duology, but it continues on into a series about other people. I think we even get a book about Jackson's friend Mark? I'M HERE FOR THIS! Because Jackson's friends? They're amazing!
Corinne Michaels is really good at writing characters. I'm a plot-person, but she really got me with these charactes. The growth within them all was just so well written.
We got a little bit more of the military thing in this book, but if that's not your thing, fear not! It's in no way getting in way of the story. I think it could be summed up to about two or three chapters. If you're curious about military romances, this might be a good series to start with, as it eases you into it.
Well, there you go folks. This is it.
