Nanami Momozono is alone and homeless after her dad skips town to evade his gambling debts and the debt collectors kick her out of her apartment. So when a man she's just saved from a dog offers her his home, she jumps at the opportunity. But it turns out that his place is a shrine, and Nanami has unwittingly taken over his job as a local deity!
Himemiko, ayakashi ruler of Tatara swamp, is happily dating her human sweetie Kotaro. But yokai/human relationships are hard to manage, especially when the human has no idea who he’s dating! When the supernatural starts to intrude, can Himemiko tell Kotaro the truth about herself? Or will she lose him no matter what she does?
So, I recently watched the Kamisama Hajimemashita anime, loved it, and jumped into the manga in the middle of Volume 11. Volume 12 was the first full volume I read, and while I love the story as a whole, this volume was just okay for me. I could take or leave the Himemiko arc, to be honest, but it was still enjoyable. :)
