Delia thinks that going to college will allow her to escape from her past, but as we all know, you can never escape your past. Compound that with other traditional college drama, and you can see that things are not going to be easy for Delia. This is not just a love story. It's a lot more than that. We met Delia in the other Autumn books, we know she is struggling with what happened between her father and Autumn, we know how her family fell apart and how she so desperately wants her family back, but we also know that she has not been able to come to terms with what really happened between her father and Autumn. All of these events and experiences have influenced Delia and left her jaded and bitter. Then, things get even more complicated.
I was really impressed with the way Wood approached Delia's situation. She presented all sides of the issue and I really believed the inner conflict of Delia's heart. And she gave us Levi, 501. What a beautiful gift. He was not perfect, but he was darn close. Wood gave me closure with respect to the Autumn drama, she let us see that there is a lot more to Delia than meets the eye, she let us revisit old friends (which is one of my favorite things), and I saw possibilities for new stories too (the sexed up twins?). Wood's writing style is very easy and pleasant, yet so real and manages to get me wet in the eyes every time.
