It’s something that I finished this book, though I almost didn't. At least twice I almost stopped but then kept reading…skimming. I skipped entire paragraphs in some sections. Too much scene description. Too much expository world building. Nothing happened in too many of the scenes. Nothing I missed in the story by skipping paragraphs

Fated Born is two stories told in parallel. One is told remotely as one of the characters, Ardenis, watches it, as if he was watching a tv show or reading a book. The biggest problem is none of the characters are engaging.

Nothing happened in the story for far too long and they all could have failed or died and I wouldn't have cared. In the end I didn't want to see evil prevail but other than that kind of would have been ok if Ardenis was banished.
