Ah yes, we have part 2 in Annie's The Beautiful Years and this saga is intriguing me with every book we get through. We're still not quite to the mafia part, but we get glimpses here and there of what's to come, possibly. Annie's writing is absolutely phenomenal and she weaves her words nearly poetically between her characters. I'm not entirely sure how I'll be able to handle the constant waiting in between books and we have 5 more to go. But I'm completely invested in Brando and Scarlett's epic love story.

Brando, Brando, Brando! We definitely get so much more of him in part 2 and I'm really hoping it stays that for the duration of this saga. He is just absolutely EVERYTHING and gives all other heroes a run for their money. This book is constantly keeping us on the edge of our seat with so much need to know more. And the thing that's constantly on the forefront of my mind is when the mafia will run more through the story. It's still pretty vague about his family history, but we know that they're one of the most powerful families in the world. And with the knowledge that many of us know about the mafia is that they will ALWAYS protect their own, which makes me more curious about WHEN Brando will start owning up to his name and possible legacy. I have my guesses on what's to come and boy, it seems rather epic.

I have to say that Brando and Scarlet's love story feels like you're walking on eggshells or that you're just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I know it's going to happen and it will probably obliterate me, but I know them being together will be the end game. And they have so much more obstacles to overcome especially with that BIT that happens near the end. I'm not a fan of when outsiders start to meddle in places they shouldn't be.

Scarlet is still as fierce as ever. And she's off in Paris continuing her ballet career and she's been apart from Brando for far too long. Their time apart brings some rather longing and haunting dialogue between the two characters. Their connection is something I can't even fathom or understand, it's so deep-rooted and not even distance could keep them apart.

So there's a certain chapter in this book that quickly became my favorite chapter. It was so beautifully and intricately written, it felt like I was there witnessing it all. Brando bears it all in that chapter and we get to witness that much deeper side of a man that they rarely show. If you ever doubted his love for Scarlett, this chapter will certainly put all of your worries to rest.

Annie definitely does it again with part 2 of this saga (no surprise there). Her writing stuns me every single time and I'm always finding myself constantly getting lost in her words. With every book that I've read of hers, she tells the story with so much detail and emotion, it actually feels like you're alongside the characters. I know Annie's going to bring a storm towards these two and I hope Scarlett and Brando can weather it.

Major thank you to Annie for providing an advanced reader's copy for an honest review! Hugs, lovely!
