Philip Ashley travels to Italy to find his cousin Ambrose has died suddenly and Rachel, Ambrose's wife, has gone. I don't like when characters act like an utter fool unless their foolishness is important to plot narrative or it's caused due to some medical condition and the hero of this novel doesn't fall in either of those category. He was just a moron. And that's about all I got to say about this book.
