Summary:
Doreen Green has seen it all. She's fought countless villains during her time as a hero. She even babysat for fellow heroes. Now she's striking out to do something new – attend college! Keeping her life a secret will be easier said than done while living on campus, but surely it's possible?
Squirrel Girl may not be the biggest name in the Marvel universe – but she's still around to save the day. More importantly, she is often around when other heroes are too busy with other missions, which makes her perfect for the job.
Review:
Despite being a big Marvel fan girl, I have never sat down to read all of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. I know; shame on me. I'm here to fix that, I promise! I have the entire series stacked right next to me as I write this.
The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Vol. 1is every bit the chaos-fueled adventure I expected it to be. In truth, I love Doreen's energy, even if she'd probably exhaust me in real life (I'm a born introvert, shocking, I know).
The best part about this series is that it's pretty approachable for anyone. You don't have to know everything about the Marvel universe (though a decent foundation will help) to give this series a go. Doreen's character and personality can help make up for any lack of knowledge. Oh, and her collection of superhero/villain trading cards helps.
