I am very lucky to have an in with the author of Deadly Obsession and she supplies me with my drug of choice…Hot Alpha Males!! Thanks Ms Paige for the ARC and the opportunity to read and review.
Jake is an ex-fighter who works hard to get past his rough start to life and becomes CEO of a company that deals in construction. He has led a busy life making work his priority. Unfortunately this included marrying a woman (stupid cow) who would improve his business. She’s an idiot who loses him, but he is nice enough to let her keep her job. Ella is recovering from tragic loss and finds escape in a dangerous way. She is a very beautiful woman who men can’t help falling for. Jake and Ella meet up and have an instant physical attraction to each other. Unfortunately she is in a relationship already.
This story scraped along the edge of my comfort zone. Relationships that start in this way normally get my back up. In this case I was able to get past it. Ms Paige has a talent for explaining the motivations of the characters to make the situation come through clearer and harder to form judgements.
Jake is a foul mouthed, sexy hunk of a man who knows what he wants…and it’s Ella. This journey for the couple is not easy. There are many obstacles in the way of their happiness, but fortunately they both want it enough to work for it. They had to learn to live with each other and their possessive quirks, but they also had some issues in the bedroom. Boy did I like to see them work through those problems. Ms Paige has written some of the hottest sex scenes I have ever read.
There is some violence throughout the story and there is one scene towards the end that surprised me a little, but I was able to get past it.
Overall I really enjoyed this story and I feel that Ms Paige’s style and talent improves with each release. It is different from her usual fare, but definitely as good if not better.
Thank you Ms Paige for being a wonderful friend and helping me feed my addiction.
