Can Chloe love another military man?

The Dark Horse by Liz Flaherty is the tenth book in the 12 Days of Heartwarming Christmas pack of books, and I loved it. It was a nice contrast to the others so far, which is always good. The two main characters come together because they love each other; but also because they want to help one of their students and his siblings.

Chloe (Brewton) Welcome

Chloe (Brewton) Welcome started the book as Chloe Brewton the widower of an Army medic and knew that she didn't want that life anymore. Though love doesn't always listen. She loves the students she teaches and has always wanted to be a mom. In this book, she gets everything she's ever wanted and more. Chloe is a fantastic character, and it surprised me when Chloe would do something that I wouldn't think she would do. Her life it seemed was waiting for her new husband to come along and pick up the pieces of her heart giving her the family she's always dreamed of having.

Rowan Welcome

Rowan Welcome is on his leave from Thanksgiving to until the New Year, and he's spending it with his uncle and aunt in Christmas Town, Maine. It's here that he finds his calling and maybe a life that he doesn't want to leave. He has a heart murmur that he has to take into account, and Rowan's a great person. Especially with taking care of the four kids that he and Chloe have decided to foster together. They got married so that they could do this and he is perfectly happy with where he is at in life. The ending was perfect for this happy little family of six.

Five Stars

The Dark Horse by Liz Flaherty is an excellent book that covers more than just Heartwarming Christmas. It includes a family that isn't blood but one that they choose. Ms. Flaherty did an excellent job with this story. I am giving it five stars and recommending it to everyone that reads Romance.
