Summary:

Makoto Kowata is a witch. Or rather, she's a witch in training. As such, she has packed up all her belongings (and cat) to live with distant relatives. It's a bit of a family tradition – a way of sending young witches out into the world - but in a gentler way.

It's time for Makoto to take the next step in her witch training. More specifically, this means she and her family must travel to Shimokita. It's here where she'll (finally) learn which element she can potentially control.

Review:

Diving back into the world of Flying Witch with Flying Witch Vol. 8. I say diving back like I didn't binge the last four volumes of this series in one week (oops). It'll come as no surprise to hear that this volume perfectly matches the tone of the rest.

I am happy Flying Witch Vol. 8 moved Makoto's magical journey forward. Sometimes, the plot can stagnate with a slower-paced story (such as this one). Learning what Makoto's specialty (is that the right term?) is will help stem that feeling.

This volume deviates from the norm in a couple of small ways. I don't know how I feel about it, so I will give myself some time to think about it.

Highlights:
Slice-of-life
Witchy Tale
Cat Familiar
