Summary:

Kat Bird just woke up from a coma, and she remembers nothing. Well, almost nothing. Everything that made her who she is...that's gone. But basic memories for how to function? Those remain.

Thankfully, Kat has a twin sister to help her pull her memories together. Or rather, give her information to recreate those memories. But there's something off about the information she's been given. Almost as if Jude is leaving out large chunks of their shared past.

Review:

I'll admit it. I'm torn on how to feel about Where You End. On the one hand, I love some of the core elements of this plot. On the other hand, I found myself needing breaks from it here and there. So, it didn't quite live up to my hopes and dreams.

The good: this is a layered mystery. Kat doesn't know who is telling her the truth and who is lying. She doesn't know how far down the rabbit hole goes. It was a delight (of a sort) to follow her adventure.

The less-than-good: I didn't enjoy the other timeline/perspective that worms into this book. It felt like a necessary element, but it felt too much like trying to squish the Hunger Games into a normal thriller if that makes sense. It threw me off every time.

Long story short, Where You End was an interesting and very different read. This may be a good place to start if you're looking for a genre-bending book. Just check the trigger warnings before diving in.
