Fire Force 7 by Atsushi Ohkubo

Fire Force 7 (Fire Force, #7)

by Atsushi Ohkubo

The city of Tokyo is in the grip of a reign of terror! Possessed by demons, people have begun to burst into flame, leading to the establishment of a special firefighting team: the Fire Force, ready to roll on a moment's notice to fight spontaneous combustion anywhere it might break out. But the team is about to get a very unique addition: Shinra, a boy who possesses the unique power to run at the speed of a rocket, leaving behind the famous devil's footprints. Can the Fire Force discover the source of this strange phenomenon and put a stop to it? Or will the city burn to ashes first?

Summary:

Fire has always been a thing of nightmares for many. In this world, people are at risk of spontaneously combusting and turning into Infernals. An Infernal wants only one thing - to destroy. They are no longer considered human. That is where the Fire Force comes into play. It's their duty to protect the people.

While Company 8 isn't the only fire force trying to get to the truth, they are certainly the least corrupted. Yet, they will need allies to get to the bottom of this. Thus, they're about to reach out to an expert they desperately need to join the team. Naturally, things will go wrong.

Review:

Ohhh! Time for more characters to get introduced, thanks to Fire Force Vol. 7. I know there's already a really full cast at this point, but I instantly felt compelled to learn more about Vulcan – everything I could get.

Plus, this adventure split the team into a smaller group. This gave us a chance to get to know three of them (Arthur, Shinra, and Iris) a bit more – while seeing how they handle danger when isolated. It was a fun fight, to put it lightly.

I really like Vulcan's character. He's part of what the team has been missing, both in an archetype sense and in a role sense (they really do need an engineer!). I can't wait to see where the story goes, especially following that cliffhanger ending.
