Summary:
Once upon a time, a man named Tatsu was a fierce member of the Yakuza. He was known as the Immortal Dragon and infamous for everything he did – and survived. But that was years ago. Now he's a househusband and quite dedicated to the job.
Enter the househusband! He walked away from a life of danger and violence. Now he fights a new type of battle against dust and messes. All while mastering the art of cooking and shopping.
Review:
The Way of the Househusband continues to be a delightful and often hilarious read, even five volumes in. I can see why it's so popular (and why it has both an anime and a live-action series). It's so easy to relate to the characters, even when their backstories are so wildly different from our own.
I'm mostly talking about Tatsu here. His adventures may seem small, but he makes them large and wild, thanks to his personality. While I enjoyed this antics, I will say that it was really nice to see his softer side in this volume. Yet another piece to the puzzle of why he and his wife work so well together.
The only thing I didn't love about The Way of the Househusband Vol. 5 was the rap battle – I could have lived without it (and based on other reviews I'm seeing, I don't believe I'm the only one who feels that way).
