"Jon Bragg Scout's Honor" is a fantasy novel that is written to entice the hearts of readers who enjoy reading Norse mythology books. According to my research, this is book two within the series. As a side note, I believe this review would have been more impactful had I actually read book one. (Note to self, read book one). Okay, let's dive right in, shall we? The main protagonist of this book is Jon Braggs. He's a teen demi-god...sort of. He's actually the descendant of the Norse god, Bragi. Jon has inherited Bragi powers of his own, but he hasn't quite gotten the knack of controlling them. So, his grandfather puts him through rigorous training as a means of learning to master those powers. Alongside Jon is his faithful and trusty best friend, Marc. Honestly, these two are more like brothers. They're as thick as thieves. The humorous interaction and banter between them creates the perfect balance of humor needed in this action-packed novel.

Jon and his crew may have 'won' the battle against evil back in book one, but the battle is far from over in book two. This summer, our heroes must face-off with mythical creatures and other threats, once more, and hopefully survive to tell the tale. But fear not, Jon isn't alone. No, he doesn't have to battle these storms by himself. There are a few surprises in store for readers. This book throws several unexpected curveballs in the reader's direction. It left me tottering at the edge of my seat, during my reading experience. This earns it a 5-star rating. I certainly wasn't expecting those curveballs...and neither will you. I admire Kenney Myers' writing style. It's an excellent blend of humor, descriptiveness, and intensity all mingled into one beautifully scripted novel. Parents, here is some positive news. This book is free from sexual content, adult language, and mature situations. So, it's safe for your teenagers to read. I recommend this book to anyone (both teens and adults), who enjoys reading fantasy novels based on Norse mythology.
