Book Summary:
Lou has been murdered. She was the last victim of a local serial killer. Thankfully, after her death, they were finally able to catch him. Since the series of murders caught so much attention, a government project decided to bring Lou and all the other victims back to life.
Well, sort of. It's a bit complicated, as one might imagine. Now Lou has to re-adapt to this life alongside the other four women. She should focus on living but can't let go of her death. She needs to know more. She needs to understand.
My Review:
I'll admit that I was fairly puzzled about how to rate/review My Murder. It is by far the most original thriller I've read, possibly ever. And that's an impressive feat. Unfortunately, while that twist was a surprise (and boy, was it), I don't think I loved it?
The mystery starts strong. The whole idea of trying to solve your murder is compelling, right? Only, it seems like there is no mystery to solve – the case was closed before the novel started. Obviously, we later learn this isn't the case, but we're at least halfway through the book before that revelation comes out.
Ultimately, I respect the creative idea that resulted in My Murder. I just don't think it landed as flawlessly as it could have. Still, it was worth the read! If you're looking for something unique, give it a shot.
