by Jennifer Estep

The truth won’t set me free—but it will probably get me killed ...

As Gin Blanco, aka the assassin the Spider, I’m used to having a target on my back. But ever since I started investigating the secret society known as the Circle, that target seems bigger than ever.

Still, I’m trying to relax and enjoy the events leading up to my friends’ wedding when I learn that an old enemy has returned to Ashland. And that’s the just beginning of my latest nightmare. Soon, I have Circle goons watching my every move, but I have no choice but to continue searching for a key piece of evidence against the evil group.

The deeper I dig, the more horrifying secrets I uncover, and the more dangerous things become for me and my friends. Just when I think I finally have a handle on things, a shocking revelation shatters my heart and leaves me with an ugly realization—that betrayal is the sharpest sting of all ...

It took me way too long to finally read Sharpest Sting, but I'm not ready for the series to be over! In true Gin fashion, she has uncovered some dirty, dangerous secrets and now she has to deal with the fallout. Although this time, it's much more personal, as she recently learned that her uncle is head of the infamous Circle. So it looks like she has to take down the family business? On top of that, she has a friend's wedding to get ready for! And as we know, Gin is fiercely loyal and protective of those she loves, so a wedding is the perfect place for her enemies to lay a trap.

I don't want to give anything away about Sharpest Sting, because we're so close to the end! I will say that this one had a fun wild goose chase, as Uncle Mason has Gin searching for something that went missing many years ago. Or else. Gin continues to be a totally kick-ass lady, but that doesn't mean she can't be defeated. Her friends and family are her greatest weakness and greatest allies and I'm pretty sure everybody was around in this book! I really enjoyed this second-to-last installment although it does feel like a set-up for the finale rather than it's own defined story. That's not necessarily a bad thing, because I am eager to see how Gin finally comes out on top!
