This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Netgalley. This is the third book in the Nikki Hunt series but all 3 can be read as standalones.
This book follows the case of Frost. Nikki has been hunting Frost for 5 years. The previous two books did have little hints of the Frost case but if you haven’t read them everything you need to know is in this book.
Nikki is an excellent detective. She is smart and determined. No one give’s Nikki a harder time than herself. She has been through a hell of a lot in her life and she is one strong individual!
This case is action-packed. The pace rarely lets up from start to finish. I felt on edge for the whole book. I did guess some things but not everything and Stacey did a great job of drip-feeding information throughout the story.
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but this one had something special about it. I’m not sure if its the more personal aspects of the case or that it was the crescendo to the Frost case that Nikki has been working on for so long but I enjoyed every single page of this book. I can’t wait for more from Nikki and her team.
