What I love most about this book isn't the characters (although Hank has a special place in my heart) or the setting (hard to beat a futuristic world, though) but the action! From the first chapter, we're thrust into an adventure, and the pace keeps going throughout the book, never leaving you struggling to turn the page as you always want to know what's going to happen next.
When I first picked up this book, I was a bit nervous, it's book two in a series, and I haven't read book one (yet), but even with never having read even a page of book one, Silver & Smith and the Doppelganger's Gate never left me feeling like I was missing anything or misunderstood the world built in this series.
This book goes beyond comparisons of other novels, but I would like to mention that I get some serious Indiana Jones vibes from the adventures inside. I can't wait to read the first book to see any hidden gems inside the second that I may have missed. If you're into fast-paced action novels with hidden artifacts and clues throughout, I highly suggest picking this book up and giving it a read. You won't be disappointed.
